Hello, my name's Vanessa and I am a Native British English Speaker from Cambridge, England. For more than seven years, I’ve had the privilege of teaching and coaching students from all over the world, helping them grow in confidence, communication, and success.

Your Coach
I hold a Canadian university degree and a 120-hour TESOL
certification, and I’ve developed a teaching style that combines clear structure with calm, supportive coaching to help students make real progress.
Having lived in the UK, Canada, New Zealand, and Australia, I bring a global perspective to every lesson. Students describe me as friendly, positive, and patient - someone who brings out their best with patience and a supportive encouragement.
Whether I’m preparing a student for a competitive school interview or helping them strengthen their English communication for everyday life, my focus is always the same: to help every learner feel confident, calm, and ready to shine!

Our
Story
Astar English Academy was created with a clear purpose: to provide students and adults with high-quality English coaching that genuinely supports their goals.
Our journey began with one-to-one English classes, helping learners strengthen fluency, communication, vocabulary, and confidence.
Over time, it became evident that students attending secondary school interviews were finding it challenging to prepare independently, with limited guidance, structure, or professional feedback. This lead to unnecessary pressure, frustration and reliance on memorised answers rather than genuine communication skills.
From this, the Astar Interview Preparation Programme was born, offering a structured, supportive approach that builds confidence, critical thinking, and natural speaking ability.
While interview coaching is a key part of what we offer, Astar English Academy continues to provide one-to-one English classes for learners of all ages, supporting students and adults in improving communication, confidence, and fluency to achieve their personal, academic, and professional goals.
Astar English Academy exists to support every learner in becoming a confident, capable English speaker and has helped hundreds of students gain the confidence and communication skills needed to achieve success in school admissions, interviews, examinations, and professional pathways.
